Both Wire Walls and Precast Panel Walls were used
The Golden Ears Bridge crosses the Fraser River and establishes a vital corridor between Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Surrey and Langley via a connecting 14 km road system.
Proven retaining wall expertise and product performance led to AIL’s MSE Retaining Wall Systems being selected for this project. Both Wire Walls and Precast Panel Walls were used, with the latter including a custom-cast Eagle motif.
One unique challenge was the low bearing capacity of the soft foundation soils which required the use of lighter weight pumice and river sand as backfill materials.
