The AIL Group of Companies, a winner in the program since 2019, is proud to have requalified in 2024 to maintain its status as a Best Managed Gold Standard Company. Thanks to all of our people for making this possible!
Mike Wilson, CEO of The AIL Group, comments, “Once again, I am very proud of our people for their hard work in helping us requalify for this award. We couldn’t have done it without each one of you!”
Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business-awards programs recognizing innovative and world‑class businesses. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent evaluation process.
“Wow! Six years in a row. Great work teams. The Best Managed Gold Standard award recognizes our continuing commitment to best practices at every level as we realize our goals and sustainability targets,” says Jason Sherwood, President & CEO, Atlantic Industries Limited. “I am very excited about what the future holds for The AIL Group and its member companies.”
Celebrating over 30 years, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program awards excellence in private Canadian-owned companies with revenues of $50 million or greater. To attain the designation, companies are evaluated on their leadership in the areas of strategy, culture, commitment, capabilities, innovation, governance and financial performance.
“Great things are happening within The AIL Group with new product innovations and notable project wins,” adds Dale Gaston, President of both Algonquin Bridge Limited and AIL Sound Walls. “Requalifying as a Gold Standard winner is a real feather in our cap.”
Applicant companies are evaluated by an independent panel of judges with representation from program sponsors and special guests. The 2024 cohort of Best Managed Companies share common themes such as having a people-centric culture, targeting effective ESG strategies and accelerating operational digitization.
“Over the past year, companies such as The AIL Group have continually adapted and successfully responded to challenges, seized new opportunities and leveraged industry–leading competencies to maximize their investments and drive sustainable growth,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private, Global Best Managed Leader and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “By demonstrating an increased focus on environmental, social and governance themes, these winners have set the standard of excellence for Canada’s business ecosystem.”
